Fees & Rebates

Fees

We provide fee-for-service care for clients. Our fees reflect the professional qualifications, experience and excellent service we pride ourselves on.

We periodically review and benchmark our fee structure to ensure it remains in line with recommendations from Speech Pathology Australia, the Australian professional body for speech pathology, the National Disability Insurance Agency, and comparable with other private practices.

Rebates

  • Private Health Cover

Private Health Cover can assist in covering Speech Pathology assessment and session fees. The amount of the refund, if any, is dependent on your fund’s rules and the level of your cover.

It is best to contact your health insurer to discuss the amount of cover available before you attend your appointment.

  • NDIS

VMSP charges the standard rates that have been set by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Vic). If you would like more information, we are more than happy to discuss this with you. Or you can visit the NDIS website for more information.

Medicare

If you have complex care needs, or care for somebody who does, you may be eligible to access Medicare rebates for 5 sessions per calendar year with an Allied Health Provider (e.g., Speech Pathologist).

Contact your GP and mention that you would be interested in finding out if you or your child is eligible to receive a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan rebate – formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care (EPC). It is worth noting that CDM planning sessions can take longer than a standard GP consultation, where your GP will determine if you or your loved one has a chronic condition or complex care need as defined by Medicare.

Please note: If you make a claim through Medicare, you will be unable to make a claim through your Private Health Insurer for the consultations that have the Medicare rebate applied to them. It is also important to be aware that any gap amount payable qualifies towards your Medicare Safety Net.

Contact Medicare on 13 21 50 if you have any questions regarding the Medicare Allied Health Initiative.
